Rant Up ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Rant Up, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Rant Up, we may collect:

• Rants: The text or voice recordings you submit when expressing your frustrations.
• Generated Ideas: The AI-generated startup ideas, market analysis, and implementation strategies created from your rants.
• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide through Supabase Authentication.
• Usage Data: Anonymous information about how you interact with the app (e.g., device type, browser information, feature usage) to help us improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process your rants through AI (Google Gemini API) to generate startup ideas with detailed analysis.
• Store your rants and generated ideas securely in our database when you're signed in.
• Provide, maintain, and improve the functionality of Rant Up.
• Authenticate your account and maintain your login session.
• Send transactional emails (e.g., account notifications, password resets) via Resend API.
• Analyze usage patterns to improve our AI models and user experience.
• Communicate with you about service updates, security issues, or in response to your inquiries.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate Rant Up:

• Supabase: For user authentication, PostgreSQL database storage, and backend Edge Functions (Deno runtime) to securely store your rants and generated ideas.
• Google Gemini API: To analyze your rants and generate startup ideas with market analysis, target audience insights, and implementation strategies.
• Firebase (Google): For hosting our web application and serving static content with Server-Side Rendering (SSR).
• Resend API: For sending transactional emails such as account notifications, password resets, and contact form responses.

These services may process your data according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies: Supabase Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, and Resend Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage for essential functionality:

• Authentication: To maintain your login session and remember that you're signed in.
• Essential cookies: No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

You can clear this data at any time by logging out or clearing your browser's local storage. This storage is essential for the app to function properly.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your rants and generated ideas in our Supabase PostgreSQL database for as long as your account is active, unless you choose to delete them. You can delete individual rants and ideas at any time through your account settings.

To request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, please contact us at hello@rantup.io. We will process your request within 30 days. Please note that some data may be retained in backup systems for a limited period for legal or security purposes.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication through Supabase, and database access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. We recommend using strong passwords and avoiding sharing highly sensitive or confidential information in your rants. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to hello@rantup.io.

7. Mobile Applications

Rant Up is available as a web application and as native mobile apps for iOS and Android (built with Ionic and Capacitor). The mobile apps access the same backend services and follow the same privacy practices described in this policy. Mobile apps may request permissions (such as microphone access for voice recording) which you can control through your device settings. We do not access device data beyond what is necessary for app functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

Rant Up is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@rantup.io and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will post updates on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Your continued use of Rant Up after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
